Within the scope of these guidelines, you may create new content (hereafter referred to as "secondary use"*) using the following "target content" and publish that content (hereafter referred to as "derivative content") on YouTube without the need for additional prior approval.
Additionally, you may share parts of the "target content" or "derivative content" on social media to direct traffic to them (hereafter referred to as "social media promotion").
  • Here are some examples of "secondary use"
    • "Clipping" videos of the content
    • "Commentary" videos using footage from the content
    • "English translation" videos of the content, etc.

■1■ Applicable Content

The content eligible for secondary use under these guidelines includes the following:
  • Up to 4 minutes of the main episodes of the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!"
  • Related content of the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!" published on the YouTube channel "KADOKAWAanime"

    (The applicable content includes the character art and logos, etc., used in the content listed above and thumbnails)
  • Key visuals, character illustrations, logos, etc., used on the official website

However, please note that the following items do not conform to these guidelines as they are not considered Applicable Content.

  • Content related to "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!" other than the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!". (including comics, light novels, movies, plays, etc., all contents related to "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!" other than the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!")
  • Products (books, goods, etc.) related to "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!".
  • Content for which secondary use has been expressly forbidden

Please note that methods requiring additional fees for viewing, such as YouTube memberships, are not covered by these guidelines.

When publishing derivative content on YouTube, please register your contact information and other necessary details in advance using the following link:

Please register once per YouTube channel where you will be publishing derivative content.
We will not send a reply, so once you have completed the registration, you may proceed with publishing your derivative content.

Please note that we may contact you individually using the provided contact information. (For example, if your content violates the "prohibited items" mentioned later, we may notify you. By responding to such notifications, you may be able to avoid penalties on YouTube. However, please understand that we cannot guarantee the avoidance of penalties.)

■4■ Credit Display

When publishing derivative content, be sure to display the following credits as text in the description:

If you wish to monetize derivative content, you must follow the procedures outlined below in advance.
Please note that KADOKAWA Corporation (hereafter referred to as the "Content Management Entity") has been exclusively authorized by the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!" for secondary use and the publication of derivative content on YouTube. It is designated as a YouTube Multi-Channel Network (MCN*).

  1. Participation in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP*)

    Please note that participation in the YPP may not be granted if the YouTube channel publishing derivative content contains "reused content" where others' content is included without sufficient original commentary or educational value, or if it contains "repetitious content" that is difficult to distinguish from other videos due to similarity. ■6■ Points to Note When a "Copyright Claim" Appears

When you publish derivative content, you may see a "copyright claim" from "KADOKAWA CORPORATION."
This is automatically displayed because the derivative content includes target content. It does not assert copyright infringement, so please do not file a "dispute." Additionally, you do not need to delete or set the derivative content to private.
However, regarding "copyright claims" from parties other than "KADOKAWA CORPORATION," this guideline does not apply, so please take the necessary actions.

■7■ Prohibited Actions

When engaging in secondary use and publishing derivative content, the following actions, or actions that may lead to or promote them, are prohibited:
  • Actions which may cause misunderstandings of, or alterations to, the goals, intent or the reality of the Applicable Content
  • Actions that damage the credibility or social reputation of the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!"
  • Using terms like "official" or "authorized" that may cause confusion with official content or official social media of the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!"
  • Actions which may infringe upon the intellectual property rights, other property rights of a third party, or otherwise cause disadvantage to a third party
  • Publishing content for the purpose of promoting products or services
  • Publication for the purpose of advertising one's own or a third party's products, services, etc. (excluding the advertising of one's own YouTube channel)
  • Actions which violate laws or social morals
  • Actions which violate terms of service, community guidelines, advertising policies and any other policies that users are required to adhere to on the platform or social media used
  • Unauthorized use of a third party's copyrighted material (images, video, animation, sound, etc.; hereinafter referred to as “Third Party Content”) for secondary use.
  • Using the target content as derivative content without adding significant creativity(Including usage methods such as dividing the video within the time scale available for secondary use, and having the decoded content viewed continuously, so that virtually the entire length of the video is available to the public)
  • Actions beyond the scope of the guidelines
  • Any other actions deemed inappropriate by the TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!" and the content management entity

If you include third-party content, such as animated images, in your derivative content, you are solely responsible for handling the licensing procedures for the third-party content. If you wish to use third-party content, you must directly confirm with the rights holder and obtain permission as necessary.

The TV anime "Detectives These Days Are Crazy!" and the content management entity may request the cessation of publication or promotion on social media for any derivative content deemed inappropriate without providing a reason. If such a request is made, please promptly cease publication or promotion on social media.

■8■ Disclaimer

■9■ Applicable Laws, etc.

The Guidelines shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.

The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes arising in connection with the Guidelines. However, disputes arising with residents outside Japan shall be referred to the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association ("JCAA") and shall be resolved by arbitration in accordance with the JCAA's Commercial Arbitration Rules. In this case, the place of arbitration shall be Tokyo, Japan, and the language of the procedures shall be Japanese.
